The ACT Rural Fire Service will tomorrow evening, Thursday 13 June, 2013, weather permitting conduct a hazard reduction burn at Woden Homestead near the intersection of the Lanyon drive and Monaro Highway Hume.
The burn will commence from 7.00pm and may continue to burn overnight.
Two heavy tankers, one light unit, and twelve personnel will conduct the burn of vegetation piles.
The ACT Handy Map grid reference is L14.
Temporary smoke cover may occur. Every effort is made to conduct the burn in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.
The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
