A hazard burn will be conducted at Gossan Hill Nature Reserve in Bruce tomorrow, Thursday, April 17.
The ACT Territory and Municipal Services Directorate (TAMS) has advised that, weather permitting, the 3.5 hectare burn will take place west of Haydon Street, south of College Street and Radford College.
The ACT Handy Map reference is K11.
It is normal for stumps and heavy logs to continue to smoke. Staff will continue to monitor the burn until no smokes are visible for 24 hours.
Temporary smoke cover may occur. Every effort is made to conduct the burns in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.
The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
