Hazard reduction burn tomorrow at Equestrian Park, Yarralumla

The ACT Rural Fire Service, will tomorrow, Saturday 30 August, 2014, weather permitting, assist a private landholder with a hazard reduction burn at Equestrian Park, Cotter Road, Yarralumla.

One tanker and four personnel will conduct the small hazard reduction burn of four piles from 10am to 5pm.

Temporary smoke cover may occur. Every effort is made to conduct the burn in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.

The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
