The ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) will tomorrow, Saturday 28 February, 2015, weather permitting, continue to assist a private landholder with an agricultural burn near Tharwa.
The burn will commence from 12pm to 6pm several kilometres north of Tharwa village on the Murrumbidgee River.
ACTRFS Southern Brigade will attend. This burn is a continuation of a burn that commenced last week.
Temporary smoke cover may occur. Every effort is made to conduct the burn in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.
The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
