Update three - Fire at Pialligo

Firefighters have now contained a large rubbish pile fire burning at Pialligo.

The fire is approximately 100 metres x 50 metres in size. The burning pile itself is about three metres high.

ACT Fire & Rescue has six crews and two commanders on scene. They're being assisted by another 15 units from the ACT Rural Fire Service.

One excavator is also being used on site.

The current calm conditions are assisting the firefighting efforts with smoke largely confined to the immediate area.
