An ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) Remote Area Fire Team has assisted crews from the NSW Rural Fire Service in containing a fire in the Brindabella Valley.
The five-person team was deployed at 7:00am yesterday, into extremely remote, steep and dense bushland.
Their primary role was walking the perimeter of the fire to locate hotspots and call in support from water-bombing aircraft where required.
The team returned safely at 6:00pm yesterday.
The ACTRFS reminds Canberrans that bushfire season is upon us and for more information about preparing your home and family for a bushfire emergency can be found at /actrfs/
