ACT Fire & Rescue has extinguished a small electrical fire in Bruce.
Crews were alerted to the incident on University Drive by an automatic fire alarm at 10:35am and arrived a short time later with two fire pumpers, breathing apparatus support and a hazmat team.
A small electrical fire caused by a malfunction in a battery backup room was quickly extinguished and the damaged battery has been removed.
The occupants were initially evacuated as a precaution while firefighters conducted atmospheric monitoring and ventilated the building, but they are expected to be allowed to return shortly.
