ACT Fire & Rescue has extinguished a kitchen fire in Chifley
Crews were alerted to the incident on Medley Street at 7:57pm and responded with three fire pumpers and a commander vehicle.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze but significant damage was done to the stovetop, as well as the roof space above.
One male has been treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics.
