Ruptured gas pipeline - Banks

A gas pipeline was ruptured this morning during domestic works being carried out at a residential property in Banks.

Two people self-evacuated from the area and called Emergency Triple-Zero (000) shortly before 11:00am.

ACT Fire & Rescue responded and firefighters clamped the gas leak.

A gas contractor is currently on scene to make repairs.

There is no further risk to the public.
