ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT Fire & Rescue will conduct two hazard reduction burns in the ACT today, Saturday 21 April 2018.
Dependent on suitable weather and fuel moisture conditions the burns will be undertaken at the following locations from 10:00am to 4:00pm:
- between Adelaide Avenue and State Circle adjacent to Parliament House and the US Embassy; and
- between Drakeford Drive and Covenant College in Gordon.
Fire tankers, pumpers, and support vehicles will remain onsite for the duration of the burn, departing once the burn area has been deemed blacked out.
The burns will reduce fire fuel loads to protect our community and improve ecosystem health.
For information on all active burns in the ACT please check the ESA Incidents Map on the ESA website.
