The fire at Pierces Creek has been contained.
The fire remains at 204 hectares. The fire is 7km away from the nearest suburb (Kambah). A map of the fire is available at www.esa.act.gov.au.
Additional Remote Area Firefighting Teams will be deployed to focus efforts again on the eastern edge of the fire. They will be assisted by three helicopters.
Crews will begin rehabilitation efforts for vegetation this morning, focussing on roads in the area and containment lines constructed by bulldozers.
Weather conditions will continue to be favourable for firefighting efforts, with rain forecasted over Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Fire Danger Rating for today is HIGH with north-westerly winds expected. Smoke may continue to drift across the ACT in the coming days from the Pierces Creek fire.
People with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the dust or smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
