The fire at Pierces Creek has been downgraded to 'patrol' status. This means ground crews will be patrolling the fire ground to detect and extinguish any smoldering material.
Further detection will be undertaken tomorrow by a helicopter mounted Forward Looking Infrared Radar camera. Any hotspots detected will be extinguished by ground crews.
The ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) advises the community that the alert level for this fire remains at ADVICE.
Pierces Creek forest area remains closed. The community is advised to stay away from the area over the coming weeks due to ongoing work and rehabilitation.
