[media-alert type="image" id=29908][media-alert type="image" id=29909]More than 200 people have been evacuated from the Vibe Hotel at the Canberra Airport following a fire in the hotel's kitchen.
Around 11:30pm, ACT Fire & Rescue responded to an Emergency Triple Zero (E000) call and arrived on scene to find an active fire in an oven. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames containing fire damage to the kitchen.
Most of the hotel has been smoke-logged. Crews are currently conducting ventilation and atmospheric monitoring of the building.
All guests have been accounted for. The ACT Ambulance Service also responded to the scene as a precaution. No injuries were reported.
It is anticipated the hotel will be safe to reoccupy within the hour.
