ACT Rural Fire Service are responding to 2 fires caused by lightning strikes.
One fire is on the Eastern side of Mount Gingera in the Brindabella Ranges to the West of the Cotter River.
The other fire is adjacent to Bendora Dam to the North of Mount Gingera.
Two helicopters are on scene, undertaking water bombing and observation.
Ground crews and heavy plant bulldozers have been deployed.
There is no current threat to property.
The Bushfire Alert and Warning Level for these fires is set at ADVICE.
Both fires are currently less than 1 Hectare in size.
The Fire Danger Rating where this fire is burning is HIGH. Fires burning in HIGH conditions can be controlled. Embers may be blown ahead of the fire. Spot fires can occur close to the main fire.
