Following multiple Triple Zero (000) calls this evening, ACT Fire & Rescue has investigated reports of a fire at the Belconnen Markets.
Investigations found no active fire at the markets and that the smoke sighted was coming from a chimney attached to a butcher's meat smoker.
ACT Fire & Rescue would like to thank the community for their vigilance in reporting a possible fire.
Emergency services have now departed the scene.
