ESA Staff & Volunteers Recognised with National Medal and ESA Long Service

A huge congratulations to the staff and volunteers across the ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) who were recognised for their service in a ceremony today.

There were 33 recognitions for the National Medal and three recognitions for ESA Long Service Medal.

The National Medal is presented for 15 years’ service in specific government or voluntary organisations. The medal recognises those that risk their lives and safety to protect the community in times of emergency or natural disaster. 

For the first time, ESA Long Service medals were presented at the same ceremony, also recognising those in non-operational roles for every 10 years’ service.

The recipients have contributed a significant amount of time and compassion to the Canberra community, as well as providing assistance to our interstate and overseas counterparts.
