ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) firefighters are today undertaking a hazard reduction burn on Point Hut Road, Paddys River.
The burn will be undertaken from 1pm today and should be completed 4pm. The aim of this burn is to reduce the fuel load (african love grass) on private property, in a bid to reduce the risk of grass fires this season. It will also assist the landholder with weed management on the property.
Please only call Emergency Triple Zero (000) if you see an unattended fire.
Every effort is made to conduct the burn in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.
ACT Health advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke.
