ACT Fire & Rescue, supported by ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Policing are in attendance at a house fire in Moncrieff.
Firefighters have extinguished a fire that started on the stove top and extended into the ceiling, of the two-storey townhouse.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus rescued two cats from the house, with the occupants already out of the premises. No injuries have been reported from the scene.
Bernard Heinze Avenue is currently closed eastbound between the round-a-bout at O’Keefe Avenue and Gussey Street.
Once Hazardous Materials crews have completed atmospheric monitoring, the scene will be handed back to the occupants.
