The ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) advises residents in Canberra's south that they are likely to see aircraft working in areas south of Tuggeranong this afternoon.
Large Air Tankers (LATs) will be dropping retardant around Mt Tennant in preparation for possible fire.
South westerly winds are predicted this afternoon which could cause the Orroral Valley Fire to move closer to Tharwa.
