During the warmer months, Canberra experiences an increase in high-risk events such as bushfires, storms and floods. There are simple steps you can take to prepare your home and family for an emergency.

Visit our Moncrieff Emergency Preparedness Community Hub to speak with members of:

Where: Moncrieff Community Recreational Park, Bon Scott Crescent, Moncrieff

  • Get advice on how to Be Emergency Ready from our staff and volunteers
  • Pick up and prepare a Survival Plan
  • Take a tour of our fleet of vehicles
  • Meet our mascots, Ember the Echidna and Paddy the Platypus
  • Learn how the ACT Community Fire Unit assists our services in times of bushfire
  • Let the kids get their face painted while you grab a coffee.
