Storm and Flood Assistance
ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT Parks and Conservation Service will deploy 28 firefighters to assist QLD Fire and Emergency Services with several fires burning across the state.
Crews will travel to Rockhampton and Warwick on Thursday 12 September and undertake firefighting operations for five days before returning home on Wednesday 18 September.
The ACT Emergency Services Agency has also deployed a Fire Behaviour Analyst to Caloundra, QLD and a Public Information Officer to support NSW Rural Fire Service.
Both deployments will not impact on the level of fire protection to Canberra and the surrounding regions.
We wish our departing crews safe travels and thank them for their commitment and support.
