ACT Fire & Rescue crews have continued to monitor the ongoing situation at a large factory in Geelong Street, Fyshwick.
Firefighters attended a scene of a large factory fire on Sunday morning 30 May 2021 and successfully extinguished the fire Sunday afternoon.
Due to the hazardous nature of items within the structure and significant heat which remained for some time, firefighters remained on scene and monitored the situation in case any items reignited.
Crews gained access to the structure Monday afternoon, 31 May 2021 and reported significant damage to the building.
Fire investigators will attend the scene this morning to try and determine the cause of the fire. At this stage the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
The building involved is the charging facility for a brand of e-scooters.
Geelong Street has now re-opened and neighbouring businesses have resumed trading.
