Storm and Flood Assistance
ACT Fire & Rescue has tonight assisted ACT Policing in a swift water rescue of a woman in Kambah at Kambah Pool.
Firefighters used throw bags and ropes to safely retrieve the woman from the water.
ACT Ambulance Service Paramedics treated and assessed the woman at the scene. She did not suffer any major injuries and was not transported to hospital.
ACT State Emergency Service personnel were also on scene to support.
The ACT Emergency Services Agency urges our community to stay clear of flood waters.
Rivers, creeks and storm water drains are currently fast moving and full of debris. They pose a threat to people and vehicles and should be avoided. If it’s flooded, forget it!
