We are pleased to announce Wayne Phillips has been appointed the sixth Commissioner of the ACT Emergency Services Agency (ACTESA).
Wayne brings a wealth of experience to the position, having joined the ESA as Assistant Commissioner, Corporate in 2022, after a distinguished career with Fire and Rescue NSW.
Richard Glenn, Director General, Justice & Community Safety announced the appointment after national search that attracted a highly qualified field of candidates.
The ACT Emergency Services Agency is comprised of the ACT Ambulance Service, ACT Fire & Rescue, ACT Rural Fire Service, the ACT State Emergency Service and enabling and support staff.
Demonstrating his commitment to health and wellbeing, Wayne established a Mental Health Steering Committee and a Peer Support Committee.
Wayne has dedicated himself to building positive partnerships with First Nations employees, volunteers, and the community.
He has been pivotal in working with the ESA senior leadership team to deliver world-class emergency services for the ACT.
