The ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) will tonight, Thursday 26 February, 2015 continue to assist a private landholder with an agricultural burn near Tharwa.
The burn will commence around 4.30pm several kilometres north of Tharwa village on the Murrumbidgee River and continue until approximately 10pm.
ACTRFS Southern Brigade will attend. This burn is a continuation of a burn that commenced last Thursday evening.
Temporary smoke cover may occur. Every effort is made to conduct the burn in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.
The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
