A man and a child this morning have had a miraculous escape from serious injury in a single vehicle crash in Hackett.
The ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Fire & Rescue were called to the scene in Antill Street just before 1:00am.
Crews arrived to find a small rental truck had smashed into a large tree which crushed the entered the front of the cabin trapping the 53 year old male driver and a three year old boy.
Firefighters used the jaws of life to free them from the wreckage while they received medical care from intensive care paramedics.
Both are now being taken to the Canberra Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries for further assessment and treatment.
