ACT Fire & Rescue (ACTF&R) were called to a car fire in the carport of a two storey unit block on the corner of Lambrigg Street and Pridham Street in Farrer at around 2am this morning. ACTF&R responded with three pumpers, a breathing apparatus vehicle, a hazmat unit and a commander.
The fire was contained to the car and the carport, and did not extend to the building, however there was smoke and heat damage to the unit. The hazmat unit is conducting atmospheric testing to ensure it is safe for residents to return to the property.
