ADVICE: Grass Fire - Tharwa

The property has been handed back to the landholder who will continue to manage the burn.

The fire is contained and there is no further danger to the community.

Road Closures:

Tharwa Drive has been reopened. Emergency Crews remain on scene.

The community is asked to still monitor conditions in the area.

This is an ADVICE level grass fire warning. A grass fire has started in Tharwa, 2kms north of Tharwa township near Lanyon Homestead.

The fire is moving in a easterly direction and is 500 x 500 metres in size and is being controlled. 

The ACT Rural Fire Service advises that people travelling on Tharwa drive avoid the area and monitor conditions.

No properties are under threat at this time.

People in the area may be affected by smoke, which could reduce visibility and air quality.
