The Orroral Valley Fire is at an ADVICE level bushfire warning.
The ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) is pleased to advise that the status of the Orroral Valley Fire has been changed this morning from Out of Control to Being Controlled. This means that effective strategies are being implemented and planned for the entire perimeter of the fire.
The fire is approximately 86,562 Ha in size. The burnt perimeter size within the ACT remains at approximately 134 km; 60 km has been successfully extinguished, leaving 74 km of active fire edge.
There is still active fire in the area and residents need to remain vigilant.
Milder temperatures and an increase in humidity are assisting in fire suppression efforts.
Specialised teams continue to assess all roads and road closures as a priority, to re-open once deemed safe.
There are no properties under threat at this time. Call Triple Zero (000) immediately if you or your property are under threat.
