Smell of smoke - Belconnen

At approximately 10:45am ACT Fire & Rescue (ACTF&R) responded to the smell of smoke at a unit complex on Solly Place, Belconnen.

Nearby residents were evacuated from the area while ACTF&R conducted ventilation operations.

ACT Ambulance Service treated one person for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the smell has been identified as burnt food stuffs.

Emergency personnel are now leaving the scene.

ACTF&R reminds Canberrans to 'don't stop looking while you're cooking'.
