ACT Fire & Rescue (ACTF&R) firefighters are conducting ventilation operations at a seniors’ living village in Greenway.

A wheat bag warming in the microwave was found to be the source of a burning smell and smoke in a kitchen.

ACT Ambulance Service paramedics attended and assessed one occupant for smoke inhalation.

ACTF&R is reminding all Canberrans to heat wheat bags strictly in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
