At approximately 11:15am, ACT Fire & Rescue (ACTF&R) responded to a structure fire at 53 Wentworth Avenue, Kingston.
On arrival firefighters found a smoke logged room due to an electrical short.
Approximately 30 people were evacuated from the building as a precaution.
HAZMAT crews are conducting air ventilation operations and atmospheric monitoring to ensure the area is safe to re-occupy.
