Update Structure Fire - Phillip

The fire at The Woden Hotel on the corner of Melrose Drive and Launceston Street, Phillip has been extinguished. ACT Fire & Rescue (ACTF&R) crews are still on scene conducting salvage and overhaul operations. Hazmat crews are conducting atmospheric monitoring. ACTF&R are being supported by ACT Policing and ACT Ambulance Service.

Launceston Street, Phillip remains closed to traffic in both directions at the intersection of Melrose Drive. 

ACT Fire & Rescue (ACTF&R) were called to a structure fire on the corner of Melrose Drive and Launceston Street, Phillip at approximately 5:15am this morning. ACTF&R are currently on scene and are being supported by ACT Policing and ACT Ambulance Service. Launceston Street is closed and people are advised to avoid the area.
